A gorgeous 4 piece vintage baby christening set in mint condition from the 1950's. The set includes christening coat, dress, slip, and bonnet.
The coat is fully lined with the lining hem trimmed in lace. Sleeves are not lined. It has a wide Peter Pan type collar in an eyelet sheer fabric trimmed in lace. The short puffy sleeves are also trimmed in lace. The opening in the front of the coat is trimmed in a sweet lace down the front opening and then carries all along the hemline. The front opening closes with two satin ribbon ties.
The dress is short sleeved in a sheer see through fabric. The neckline is trimmed in lace. The bodice is a sheer eyelet fabric as well as the center panel in the front center of the dress. There are two satin ribbon bows with long tails pinned on the bodice on either side of the chest. The long skirt is gathered slightly with a ruffled lace hemline. Back closes with two snaps.
This has a long satin sleeveless slip that also is trimmed at the hemline in lace.
Last is a darling matching bonnet with satin ribbon ties. The hat is made from the sheer eyelet and is lined in satin. The back panel is trimmed in lace as well as the bonnet front.
This is all white and is absolutely stunning. There is no tag.
