Welcome to Cameo Kids Boutique! A boutique where everything is handmade with love!
We are 2 ladies, a Mother (Deborah), and Daughter (Heidi) who share a love for sewing and creating. In using this talent we have created unique, affordable, and adorable one-of-a kind items just for you, and your children.
The mother, (me) has been a seamstress for 48 years. Starting at the young age of five, I began learning the art of sewing from my grandmother while she sewed clothing for my five sisters and me. A love for the craft has continued through to today, a craft which I have shared with my children and now my grandchildren right down to my 14 year old grandson (don't tell his friends though!)
In the last few years I have developed a love and passion for shabby chic, cottage, and everything vintage or antique. Many of our creations have transpired from an on going collection of vintage textiles for their vintage beauty and rarity, their gorgeous hand embroidered designs, the beautiful prints, and the simple but elegant creations our products become, by giving a new life, for a new story, to each beautiful piece. Our very favorite as you will see is the vintage pillowcase dress, a charming very popular little style that dates back to the early 1800's. We offer many of our vintage pillowcases for custom orders, giving you the opportunity to choose the case to be created into an heirloom quality dress especially for your little one. Plus we don't like to cut them until there is a little girl to wear it. We also offer pillowcase dresses created from fine fabrics of today for those moms who are looking for something other than vintage.
Our items are created from vintage pillowcases, tablecloths, hankies, linen tea towels, quilts, chenille bedspreads, doilies, table runners, or whatever we find that can become something useful, new, and stylish again.
We have a very strong belief that the women of yesterday need to be honored for their handcrafted creations, an art that is slowly dying, to be used again in today's living and fashion. So we seek to rescue these vintage beauties from closets, and storage chests around the world to create beautiful clothing, useful accessories, and heirloom gift items for you and your little ones to enjoy.
We take great pride in the quality of our construction, and we try to make sure that each piece is unique and special. We love to do custom orders. If you have a special request or are looking for a particular hard to find item that may not be listed, please contact us for special order information. If you don't see something, we just might be able to create what you're looking for.
